Hitler was worse, because his regime propagated the unprecedented horror of the Holocaust, the attempt to eradicate an entire people on racial grounds. Yet Stalin was also worse, because his regime killed far more people.

Stalin stupidly trusted Hitler up until operation Barbarossa.
Russian intelligence reported the upcoming invasion at least 47 times in the ten days before it actually happened, and Stalin ignored all these warnings.

Elsewhere, i've read how Stalin hid in the countryside, waiting for the Russian state to arrest him for his stupidity. But he had so sapped their independent initiative, that when they pitched up, it was because they didn't know what the fuck to do without him.

Either all of that or I'm correct in that left wing parties end up using authoritarian policies including extermination of opposition to enforce unnatural extreme socialist policies.
Then it gets blamed on the right, fools lots of mugs so that the left wing can start the ball rolling that somehow socialism will work if applied correctly next time...

Dunno if Hitler's totalitarianism is necessarily "right wing" in itself. Weren't Hitler's economic policies generally pretty centrist? If you weigh up the most oppressive and controlling and violent regimes of the 20th century the vast majority have been at least founded on and justified by left wing ideals.
Don't panic I'm not gonna go down the "duuur hitler was a commie" route. Cos he fucking wasn't.

NAZI is German for National Socialist Workers Party.
